ANDREAS ANGELIDAKIS, ANGELO PLESSAS// 2 June – 19 September 2009
Rebecca Camhi gallery is pleased to present a common show by the artist Angelo Plessas and the architect Andreas Angelidakis.
Andreas Angelidakis and Angelo Plessas have been working in parallel and living together for the last ten years, and 2009 marks the first time they produced a joint project, the Angelo Foundation Headquarters (www.theangelofoundationheadquarters.com), commissioned by the Jeu de Paume in Paris. This collaboration presented a landscape of accumulation and layering of ideas, where drawings by Angelo Plessas were turned into buildings by Andreas Angelidakis, then programmatically altered by Angelo Plessas, repositioned by Andreas Angelidakis and so forth, producing a living environment of continuous evolution.
Based on the Jeu de Paume project, for this exhibition at Rebecca Camhi gallery, Angelo Plessas and Andreas Angelidakis present a space that includes pieces by both Angelo Plessas and Andreas Angelidakis as well as collaborative pieces, mixed together with objects they chose to produce in an environment of accumulation and exchange, similar to a living or working place, a headquarters of everything.
